Reflection #2

It has now been a week since my last reflection on skills/ reading strategies. Looking back at the week that has just ending makes me very relieved because its now pretty smooth sailing from here. All of my class projects are now done and over with for the most part. The only one I still need to turn in is my The Things They Carried letter to a soldier for my reading 96 class. Overall I followed through on everything I wrote in my last reflection. The hard part of it was of course my Spanish and making sure I went though my flash cards at least once a day or more. Doing a reflection was a lot of help because I saw everything I need to do and how I should go about doing each idea on my to do list. Also it was helpful because I had to put a lot of thought in to it and how I would need to manage my time to get every thing done with the time I had. Something I would do different or mostly add to it would be making a more detailed calendar with the time I have for school work assigning each class a set time so I make sure I get all of my subjects in. The only challenges I have this week is study for my finals for next week and make sure am prepared for the exit exams this rest of the week and next week. Also I will carry on making a to do list and a time schedule to make sure I stay organize though out the days to come.

Weekly Calendar

To Do List:

Studying for Child Development
Do the finishing touch on my TTTC paper
Make make up my summer work schedule

Reflection #1

This week in all my class I will be using many study skills to do all of my homework, to study and to finish up my projects. One study skill I now use is a to-do list. This helps me to organize my time so I will get everything I need to done since I not only go to school full time I also have two jobs. One of my jobs is being a nanny, so I really have to manage my time. SQ3R actually has come much more handy then I thought it would. It may take more time in the beginning but when it comes time for the test it’s much easier to study for it like my Spanish test I have coming up this week. Also making flash cards help a lot when it comes to studying for my Spanish test. I try to go though all my flash card for the whole semester at least once a week or more. Two other ways to help me with understanding Spanish more is watching television or listening to the radio in Spanish and writing sentence or doing exercises from the book. My Spanish class is one of the biggest things on my list this week because I must do well in the class. For my Child Development class we have a lot due this week. Our art portfolios are due with everything we have learned over the last six weeks with example work and are reaction paper about our experience visiting and touring the Lab school and observation of the school is due. In addition we must write a reaction post on my gateway for several chapters in our books. Which highlighting and annotating makes it easy to write my response and use good examples from the text. Lastly for my reading class I must finish my lab contract and make sure I am prepared for the exit exams for the weeks to come.
